Reflector (Reflect)

Based on the Boston Museum of Science's curriculum Engineering is Elementary, which teaches students an engineering design process: "Ask," "Imagine," "Plan," "Create," and "Improve." For our students, we also ask them to Reflect.  Learner reflects upon what they have learned in this unit.  This is usually ongoing throughout each step of the Engineering Design Process, especially between the "Create" and "Improve" steps, where Learners must reflect upon what went well and what didn't prior to improving their technology.

1. Learner actively participates in classroom discussions related to reflection.

2. Learner records their reflections regarding the creation of their prototype solution and its improvement.
