VEX Robotics Camp

Student participates in a week long robotics camp, where the students learn to build and program using the VEX robotics kit. Skills include learning the basic building skills necessary to build a successful robot, capable of movement; as well as the attachment and use of a variety of sensors. Programming skills include use of the programming software; basic motion commands; commands from tele-operated behavior; and program loops and conditional switch statements.

Student successfully builds a VEX Robot; utilizes each of the different sensors on their robot for a functional purpose; successfully programs and demonstrates a LOOP and a SWITCH statement with their robot. Robots must be robust enough to operate successfully without loss of parts. Students using textually based programming languages must also demonstrate the use of comments within their program.
